Johnny Schofield

Schofield is considered by many in the game to be one of the bravest goal keepers of all time, surviving a pit explosion and suffering a fractured skull while playing in goal against Man United in 1960. He really became first choice goal keeper at Birmingham in 1960. He helped Birmingham reach the 1963 league cup final, meeting Aston Villa in the final. He left Birmingham in 1966 for Wrexham and is now considered one of the greatest ever players to have played for Birmingham.
